The case of cancelled flight is governed by Community Regulations (EC) no. 261/2004 dated 11/02/2004, published in G.U. L. 46/1 of 17/02/2004, which established “Common rules on compensation and assistance for passengers in the event of denied boarding, cancellation and long delay”.

WHAT YOU ARE ENTITLED TO IN CASE OF CANCELLED FLIGHT
Article 5 of the Regulation, under the heading “Cancellation of the flight”, lays down the obligations of the carrier in respect of the flight in the event of flight cancellation consistent with Article. 7, in the financial compensation equal to:
€ 600,00 for all air routes above 3.500 km
€ 400,00 for all air routes between 1.500 km and 3.500 km
€ 250,00 for all air routes below 1.500 km
